Abstract
This paper extends the one-cycle control method to control a current source converter, which has the natures of controllable current source including a good linearity, high precision, fast transient response, and easy design of circuit parameters. It is an excellent candidate to realize the current source in a serial hybrid active power filter (HAPF), which has prominent characteristics among the reported ones. The principle of the one-cycle controlled current converter is derived; and its application and control scheme in the serial HAPF is discussed in detail. Analysis and simulation results verified that the combination of this one-cycle controlled current converter and the current-type SHAPF is feasible. This kind of SHAPF is simple in both control and circuit, yet has good harmonic suppression.
