  • Abstract
    Integrating the concurrency handling capabilities of a mini-overlay broadcasting control protocol (mOBCP) and the real-time responsiveness capabilities of the coupled child-parent-role-swapping (ChiPaRoS) local transformation overlay mechanism, the overall performance of a personal broadcasting system can be appreciatively alleviated. The optimized performance attainable inhibits annoyance caused by clients´ waiting periods and time-outs when many clients, as it must practically be, concurrently want to join for a real-time, live session. In this proposal, mOBCP is used to improve the concurrency degree by registering services in a Web-server accessible to clients for quick and alternate selections/reselections. ChiPaRoS provides adequate real-time response service by locally interchanging the parents-children- roles whenever the probing commends that parent´s performance has fallen shorter than respective children. The simulation results portray a convincing performance in terms of time needed for certain concurrently joining clients at different layers, and in terms of average tree latency with differing tree construction times.
