Abstract
This paper proposes an original approach to deal with 3D anisotropic medical databases by incorporating the anisotropic coefficient directly in the design of a 3D moment-based surface operator. This approach is based on a new continuous 3D surface model in order to adapt to information deficiency in the direction corresponding to the lowermost resolution, and avoid interpolation difficulties by using only the original slices. Results on synthetic and real data show the efficiency of the operator in detecting surfaces accurately
