Abstract
Business organizations continuously make effort to improve their decision making capability using business intelligence (BI). On the other hand, they also want to improve performance of BI tools and drive down the information technology (IT) budget. With the advancement of computing technologies, software engineering, data warehousing technologies, cloud computing, computer processing powers and emergence of smart-phones the use of business intelligence tools has increased tremendously and these tools have become more sophisticated than ever before. Emerging technologies and methods are being adopted steadily in the near future by business organizations. This paper gives an account of the emerging technologies in business intelligence and data warehousing that significantly help with improving the performance data warehouses and business intelligence tools.
