Abstract :
The market for value added services in Europe is demand driven. Therefore it is very important to identify the obstacles which can slacken the demand growth. These obstacles, principally related to difficulties in accessing a VAS (value-added service), can be overcome by adding some features to the networks connecting VAS providers to their users. CSELT, within the AIDA (access interface for data applications) project, implemented a prototype of a network, in accordance with an OSI reference model, providing features to more easily access VASs. The AIDA project and the network prototype are described in detail
