Title :
25 Years of SA Nodal Cell Modeling
Author_Institution :
Univ. of Amsterdam, Amsterdam
Abstract :
This review provides a brief history of modeling the spontaneous electrical activity of sinoatrial (SA) nodal cells. The first mathematical models of the pacemaker activity of these cells were published in the early 1980s. During the 25 years that followed, many more models of increasing complexity have been developed. The main characteristics of the twelve most widely used models are presented and compared.
