Abstract :
Based on the tested results carried out on iced 10 kV DC composite insulators in the artificial climate chamber of the High Voltage Laboratory of Chongqing University, in this paper it was obtained that the relations among the flashover voltage of iced 10 kV DC composite insulator and atmospheric pressure, ice amount accreted. As well as the effects of voltage polarity on flashover voltage were gained in colligated condition of low atmospheric pressure and icing at high altitude districts. The hydrophobicity of 10 kV composite insulator under three different conditions has been analyzed.
