Abstract :
Previous studies on service innovation are mostly focus on service sector, but with the servitization of manufacturing companies, service innovation in manufacturing industry is getting more attentions. This paper tries to build a theoretical framework for service innovation in manufacturing, especially in construction machinery industry. First, we make a literature review about service innovation focusing on four dimensional model of service innovation and driving force behind service innovation. Then, we build a theoretical framework according to the literature review. Finally, we explore a case study about a leading company in construction machinery industry of China, to modify the former theoretical framework, aiming at making it more appropriate and general to guide service innovation in the construction machinery industry in China.
