Abstract :
In order to monitor the partial discharge in large generator and inspect the insulation condition of stator insulation, an on-line monitoring system based on virtual instruments technology was developed. The concept of virtual instruments, the structure of hardware and software, the functions and characteristics of system, and the scheme of installation were described in detail in this paper. The system had been employed to monitor the partial discharge of No.1 generator operating in Henan province, China and the system was proved to be effective according to the monitoring result in field.
