Abstract :
This paper addresses the testing of High Voltage (HV) insulation systems associated with large motors and generators. The condition of HV insulation systems associated with rotating machines using Partial Discharge (PD) as a predictive tool alongside the other techniques will be assessed. These other tests include the measurement of Insulation Resistances (IR), and the equivalent parallel resistance and capacitance to calculate tan delta values.
