  • Abstract
Due to its high-efficiency characteristics, the three-level boost converter is often connected between the PV panels and the regulated DC bus to transfer the PV energy efficiently. In the literature, an additional voltage balancing control loop is required to balance the capacitor voltages via sensing the capacitor voltages. In this paper, the three-level boosting MPPT Control with reduced number of sensors is proposed. Only PV current (i.e. the inductor current) is sensed to achieve MPPT and to balance the capacitor voltages. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate the proposed method.
