Abstract :
Calibration standards for network analyzers are normally supplied with nominal values used to describe them to the measurement software. Although this provides reasonably good results, improved accuracy can be achieved by individually characterizing each calibration standard based on mechanical measurements. This paper discusses techniques of characterizing coaxial and waveguide calibration standards, and methods of evaluating accuracy.
