Abstract :
This work studies the incorporation of recycled HPDE in the virgin resin evaluating for its electric acting using measures of dielectric strength and volumetric resistivity. To this end, post consumer containers of HDPE were collected and recovered (washing, grinding and drying). Formulations were elaborated containing 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% of recycled material incorporated to the virgin resin by extrusion and injection processes with stabilization of 0,2% of Irganox B215. Samples of these materials were submitted to dielectric breakdown analysis using electrodes type sphere-plane and ramp of positive electric tension. The data were treated and analyzed through the statistical distribution of Weibull, using the Maximum Likelihood method.
