Abstract
Pumping of a dielectric liquid can be achieved with the electrical conduction phenomenon. Conduction pumping is associated with the heterocharge layers of finite thickness in the vicinity of the electrodes. These charges are based on the process of dissociation of neutral electrolytic species and recombination of the generated ions. In this paper, the conduction pumping phenomenon is described and the experimental results pertinent to electrode designs are presented. In addition, augmentation of heat transport capacity of a mono-groove heat pipe with conduction pumping is presented.
