Abstract
This paper presents a new method of acquiring the phase of the PN sequence used in CDMA systems. The new method uses an adaptive filter where the filter taps contain the results of the sum of a block of chips. These contents are then compared with similar summation of the locally generated sequence. The acquisition peak is detected by minimizing the mean square error between the received and the locally generated sequences. The analysis of the acquisition system is presented, and analytical and simulation results are compared
