Abstract
This paper describes a rigorous and extensive testing program that was designed and executed for the Personal Line Trial. This program covered various technical areas, as well as service issues. The testing covered many network elements/systems in many different configurations. Due to the cooperation of Bell Atlantic, BAMS, Bell of Pennsylvania, Bellcore, and all the suppliers participating in the testing program, many early discrepancies were identified and corrected in time for the Personal Line trial. This testing program provided not only some confidence that the service is technically robust and acceptable to end users, but also some assurance that introducing this new service would not adversely affect the normal operation of the network
