Abstract
A reconfigurable power converter can be considered as a hardware structure that switches between multiple controls algorithms depending on the requirements to improve certain performance parameters of the system. The proposed reconfigurable pulse width modulated controller (RPWM) uses two popular PWM techniques that are widely used in voltage source inverters: Sine PWM (SPWM) and Space Vector PWM (SVPWM). Both these PWM methods had inherent advantages and disadvantages. The proposed Reconfigurable PWM (RPWM) controller minimized the total harmonic reduction (THD) by switching between the best controls algorithms based on the modulation index. The model is designed and simulated using Simulink to validate the results.
