Abstract
Optimization of the material layer design for the modified uni-traveling-carrier photodiode maximizes both bandwidth and efficiency, allowing its application to a wide range of optical receivers. A 350-GHz photomixer and 43-Gbit/s DQPSK receiver are presented.
