Abstract :
Considering a channel of NW Hz bandwidth, where W Hz is the bandwidth of individual user signals, we introduce a multiple access concept which allows to accommodate N users without any mutual interference while also accommodating a number of additional users at the expense of some performance penalty. The idea is to share the available resources between different users in orthogonal waveform multiple access (OWMA) schemes when the number of users exceeds the number of orthogonal signal waveforms. The resulting periodic user collisions are handled by extending the multiple access scheme to the signal space.
