Abstract
The capture probability for radio signals transmitted through Rician fading channels, is analyzed. We present an equation for the probability density function (PDF) for n interferers, and validate this equation by showing its relation with the PDF for n interferers through Rayleigh fading channels. We then show a closed-form equation for the capture probability of one test packet and n interferers. An application of the capture equation to the evaluation of the throughput in slotted Aloha (S-Aloha) random access is presented next. Numerical results are presented as plots obtained by truncating summations found in the closed-form equations.
