Abstract :
L-3 Communications Electron Technologies Inc., (L-3 ETI), recently introduced a modernized 160W, radiation-cooled, linearized X-band helix traveling-wave tube amplifier (LTWTA). The traveling-wave tube (TWT) has completed space-flight qualification and units for two flight sets have been manufactured and tested with an average overall efficiency of 69.0%. This paper will discuss the LTWTA flight set performance and TWT flight qualification testing.
