  • Abstract
The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of dye derivatives, an important model system for molecular electronics, have been studied. The films exhibit thermochromism, chemochromism, photoelectric effects, etc., which may serve as the prototypes of device functions. Some of the results are reported. A simple model has been proposed. It assumes that energy bands are formed at the chromophore-containing interfaces, and shows an analogy between LB film diodes and amorphous organic devices
