Abstract
The performance of a single-code type I hybrid ARQ error-control technique is analysed for a spread slotted ALOHA uplink. The low Earth-orbiting (LEO) satellite channel under study is prone not only to multipath propagation and multiple in-band transmission interference but also heavy shadowing. The results indicate that coded spread slotted ALOHA is robust against heavy shadowing
