Abstract :
This study is a kinematic analysis of the joints of the rearfoot using two kinematic measurement techniques. An unembalmed cadaver foot and ankle was examined using external motion analysis and three-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (3D MRI). The authors found a net of 30° of motion at the subtalar joint as the foot moved from 20° of pronation to 50° of supination. They also measured 30° of relative motion between the talus and navicular and 10° between the calcaneus and cuboid
