Abstract :
A fully analytical approach has been presented in this paper for the estimation of sever-loss in a helical slow-wave structure. The analysis correlates the waveguide measurement of resistive-attenuator coated dielectric support rods of helical slow-wave structure to the attenuation constant of the assembled slow-wave structure. The analysis has been used for characterizing the sever-loss of a typical X-Ku-band helical slow-wave structure and compared with the results published elsewhere.
