Abstract :
The level of contamination on the surface of the insulator is represented by the Equivalent Salt Deposit Density. In the laboratory, two types of salts (NaCl, CuSO4) with different amounts are used for studying the relationship between the resistance and ESDD of a contaminated insulator. From the results, it is seen that the resistance of the insulator decreases with increasing the values of Equivalent Salt Deposit Density.
