Abstract :
A TWT model, comprising a dielectric rod with a sheath helix on its surface and an external electron beam (EB), is analyzed below. The dispersion characteristics and the coupling coefficient, characterizing the EB interaction strength are calculated for different values of the rod´s permittivity. The possibility of the significant increase in the output power using the external EB is considered.
