Preface: A message from the symposium chairs

Welcome to the IEEE Symposium on 3D User Interfaces 2012 (3DUI 2012), taking place in Orange County, California on March 4th–5th, 2012. The symposium is co-located with IEEE Virtual Reality 2012 and the ACM Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games 2012 (i3D 2012). 3DUI 2012 is the seventh international symposium focused on the topic of three-dimensional user interfaces. 3DUI is becoming a very well established topic covering many different disciplines, including virtual and augmented reality, human-computer interaction, computer graphics, psychology, and 3D games.
