Abstract :
An S band, 300MHz bandwidth and 20kW average power klystron is presented in this paper. The klystron operates at 72kV beam voltage and 41A beam current. It has peak powers of over 850kW and efficiency of over 30%. The study results including, simulations, technologies and performances are presented. Some problems such as gain dip, high order mode oscillation, and startup time are also discussed.
