  • Abstract
At present the efficiency upgrading of the motor exceeds the requirement for the market from environmental problem, and the regulation advances in all the countries of world. In this paper we will discuss about the development of IE4 level motor, which is new target for international efficiencies. Efficiency classes IE1-IE4 are defined in international standard IEC 60034-30. The draft version of IEC 60034-31 defines the new class IE4. The IE-codes replaces the former voluntary Eff classification of electric motors as shown in Table 1. The Eff classes are based on a voluntary agreement between the EU and the CEMEP in 1998. JIS C4212 is Japanese standard. The technological breakthrough is introduced in order to develop the IE4 class motor by using vector magnetic characteristic technology.
