Abstract :
The common structure in the previously proposed maximum likelihood frequency offset estimator of the OFDM system is the correlation operation regardless of the approach used. We consider this problem under a multipath Doppler spread channel rather than a channel model consisting of a single Doppler shift that was used previously. Under this circumstance, we observe some algebraic properties of frequency offset and implicitly use it to make a new frequency offset estimation scheme. Monte-Carlo simulation shows a promising result.
