Abstract :
A parabolic band hysteresis current controller (PBHCC) for DFIG is proposed in this paper to control the switching frequency variations in rotor side converter (RSC). A generalized online technique is used to determine the set of unique parabolic boundary for any operation speed. The PBHCC then utilized to regulate the current in RSC. In contrast to PI controller, PBHCC shows a very good transient behaviour. Beside that, the steady state performance is improved by reducing the switching frequency considerably. On the other hand, in compare with space vector-based hysteresis current controller (SVBHCC) which exhibit very fast transient behaviour, PBHCC significantly reduces the frequency switching variations in RSI. Simulation study is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK to validate proposed controller.
