Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the development of new high efficiency switched reluctance drives for hydraulic pump systems at low-cost applications. Therefore, the induction motors often used in conventional hydraulic pump systems until now, should be replaced by switched reluctance drives. Thus, switched reluctance machines, with can shields in the shape of hollow cylinders are mounted on the rotor and stator, have to be designed for seal-less pump applications. This paper presents the dynamic simulation part of an analytical design tool for canned switched reluctance machines.
