  • Abstract
    We experimentally observe exploding solitons in an ultrafast modelocked Ti:sapphire laser. These observations confirm theoretical predictions of such instabilities. Numerical simulations, which include the periodicity inherent in a laser, provide results similar to the experimental observation.
