Abstract :
A novel Current-Fed-Type low voltage dc to single-phase ac power converter system is proposed in this paper. The converter consists of a low voltage dc power source, a buck dc-dc converter, a single-phase current-fed PWM inverter and an ac load. One small size dc inductor is shared with the two converters. A Predictive Instantaneous Control and a Pulse Integral Value based PWM are applied so that a sinusoidal ac output voltage with fast response and smoothed dc source current are obtained with a compact power circuit. The power circuit topology, operating principle, implementation of the controller/PWM, simulation studies to confirm the validity of the theory are presented in the paper.
