Abstract
To compensate for weight on bit (WOB) fluctuations, which has an adverse impact on the drill-string, passive and active devices for compensating WOB are usually used. Active WOB compensators allow conducting operations under more extreme weather conditions than passive ones. This paper presents a constructive method to analyze the factors of active WOB compensation system and its effect on the impact of WOB, the experiment and simulation verify these results.
