Abstract :
In this paper some group properties of the algebraic Riccati equation are discovered. These priorities allow us to get brief and simple substantiation of using matrix-sign function method to solving Silvester (and Lyapunov as a particular case) equation. Also some computational aspects of matrix signum calculating are discussed, and some numerical tests´ results are represented
