Abstract
A number of monoclonal antibodies against tubulin that distinguish between different subsets of neurons in Caenorhabditis elegans, including mechanosensory neurons and motor neutrons, have been identified. To test whether the tubulin heterogeneity contributes to the formation of structurally and functionally distinct sets of microtubules, direct screening of C . elegans, c DNA expression libraries in lambda gt11 vector using different anti-tubulin monoclonal antibodies has begun. The goal is to identify the nematode tubulin genes expressed in neurons. Results are briefly summarized
