Abstract
Molecules of steroidal glycosides (SG) possess a polar, asymetric, stretched, amphiphilic structure. We proposed that crystallic fine films of SG will have unique properties as an optical active dielectric. As infinite homogeneous anisotropal dielectrical environment the crystallic films of SG in different directions will have a different means of refractive index and dielectrical penetrability, which can be determined by solving the inverse ellipsometric problem. In our investigations we used the ellipsometric multiangle measurements of polarization angles using the method of four-zones for thin films of SG and their aglycones and used the soft ionization of 252-Cf Time-of-Flight Plasma Desorption Mass Spectrometry (PDMS) for SG characterization and structural confirmation
