Abstract :
There is an increasing need in higher education to promote cooperative learning between students as well as to design course contents that encourage critical thinking. In the last few years, the advent of new technologies of information and the widespread use of Internet resources has increased the possibilities to achieve these goals. The new technologies allow faculty to experiment with new approaches to subjects that have been taught using traditional methods or have been neglected from academia. However, as a newly introduced tool, one has to be aware of the possible risks of its use. The paper explores the possibilities of technology to change the way one has been teaching in higher education as well as the possible risks of its use, mostly based on the author´s experiences
