Abstract :
A pulse-sequence data acquisition system is designed in order to realize the multi input-channel measurement. In this system, arrival-time data of each pulse coming from radiation detectors is recorded by using a personal computer (PC). For the multi input-channel data acquisition, a `flag´ is tagged on each arrival-time data in order to identify the input-channel of the pulse. And the counting losses due to the existence of the PC´s processing time are expected to be reduced by employing First-In-First-Out (FIFO) memory unit. In order to estimate this system´s performance, a computer simulation was taken place as follows: Poisson pulse trains which have various mean pulse rates (1~600 kcps), were generated with Monte Carlo simulation technique. These pulse trains were dealt with a calculation code which simulated this system with the FIFO memory unit of various size (0-100 stacks). Then the both pulse trains, generated and recorded, were compared in detail. And the differences of single and multi input-channel measurement which occurred because of the existence of the conflicting processes were also discussed
