Abstract :
In this paper, we present a call admission control algorithm for multicast service. It is necessary to control service requests with definite criterion in order to ensure end-to-end guarantee of quality of service (QoS) in the constraints limited system capacity. To address this issue, we propose a multicast service model and divide one class of that multicast service into three sub-classes and set up a threshold per each class. For including the aspect of system operation in the performance indexes, we define a system cost function as `GAIN´ with the terms `reward´ and `penalty´ respectively according to whether a service request is admitted or rejected. Thus we confine the range of threshold which maximizes the system GAIN and the service guaranteed conditioning. For the performance analysis, we show that the system can be modeled as M/M/m/m with limited capacity, investigate GAIN under various conditions and show the performance analysis for service
