Abstract
In many UK universities, Control Theory is introduced in the second year, after relevant mathematics and signal theory have been covered. As such, the subject can be treated in a mathematical way which deters some students. This paper describes how feedback and control can be introduced as part of a first year course, using little mathematics, accessible to students from different disciplines.
