Abstract :
The paper describes the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in mechatronics at Kings´ College London. The contents of the courses and the methods of teaching are outlined. Mechatronics is interpreted as a multi-disciplinary activity dealing with the synergistic integration of mechanical devices, sensors, electronics and embedded computer based controllers. In line with this interpretation, the degree programmes consist of core mechatronic modules and project based design type modules. Some of the projects used in the courses are described. Project based teaching places extra burdens on resources and staff time. However, it is believed that such courses are essential for the effective delivery of mechatronics education
