Abstract :
The rapid growth of the wireless users in contemporary wireless networks requires more potential spectrum usage. As a result, spectrum bands are deemed to be getting congested. Conversely, the authorities have found that a quantity of frequency bands licensed to operators is under-utilized, and hence implies the inefficiency of spectrum utilization. The provisioning of Cognitive Radio (CR) enables the dynamic spectrum allocation, which is a promising technique for improving spectrum utilization. This paper develops an analytical model for CR networks which distribute the service by a hybrid centralized scheduling mechanism. We obtain the user QoS metrics by isolating the primary and secondary users from the original network. The accuracy of the develop model is corroborated by the comparison between analytical and simulation results.
