Abstract :
The frequency reuse one deployment is to be used in LTE(Long Term Evolution) to achieve its target cell throughput. However, in frequency reuse one the major problem is the Inter-cell Interference (ICI) as all the base stations transmit at same frequency. This leads to severe degradation in Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and hence poor Quality of Service (QoS) of the users especially at the cell edge regions. If ICI is controlled, 4G cellular systems can achieve better QoS for cell edge users. In this paper we discuss the performance of the ICI mitigation schemes at cell-edge and cell-center regions. The goal is to improve cell-edge user throughput, capacity. The CDF of SINR, cell throughput and cell-edge user throughput is evaluated and compared by system-level simulations.
