Abstract :
We introduce a video summarizing tool for a set-top box. The tool utilizes MPEG-7 visual descriptors in generating video summary index. The resulting index can offer not only a preview of movie but also non-linear access with thumbnail images. In addition, the index supports searching of similar shots to a desired one within saved video sequences. Moreover, a simple shot-based video editing can be achieved by the generated index.
