Abstract :
WiMAX™ has emerged as a next generation wireless broadband communication technology due to its high spectral efficiency, cost effectiveness, deployment flexibility, and its support of mobility. WiMAX networks, built on all-IP network architecture for plug and play network deployments. This paper deals with a study of fractional frequency reuse (FFR) in WiMAX networks, which is a promising approach for reducing interference at the cell edge. Simulation results show that FFR can provide significant coverage gains by reducing the cell edge interference while retaining high utilization of the spectrum.
