Abstract
Our experimental results and analytical description of the patterns will be discussed and compared with numerical simulations of an arbitrary Kerr-slice in front of a feedback mirror considering Gaussian input beams, and with more specific simulations of a liquid crystal film in the investigated arrangement which have been performed very recently
