    The lumped-parameters method is used for the dynamic analysis of valve train of an internal combustion engine. The dynamic models of the integrated system of valve train and valve spring are developed, and the two models are solved simultaneously through the force between valve spring and its above seat. The contact stiffness coefficients are determined by the finite element method. A dynamic experiment system of valve train is designed. A comparison between the results from experiment and that from models is carried out. It is shown that the dynamic models have effectively predicted the dynamic behaviors of valve train, which verifies the modeling methods. In addition, the contact stiffness coefficients in valve train are almost linear, which can be treated as constants.
